Video frame intelligence, managed for your workflows.

We are designing a hosted API and managed MCP for teams and agents that need reliable frame extraction, analysis, selection, and export without operating the local runtime themselves.

Planned surface — the hosted API and managed MCP are not available today.

What we are building

The same frame workflow, delivered as a service.

The managed products will build on the open-source GVF concepts while adding hosted execution, authentication, usage controls, and operational support. The public contract is still being designed.

Planned

Managed API

A programmatic surface for applications that need to turn videos into useful, explainable frame selections.

  • Frame extraction and metadata
  • Scene, quality, and object-aware selection
  • Asynchronous jobs and artifact delivery
  • Authentication, quotas, and usage visibility

Planned

Managed MCP

A remote agent surface for using GetVideoFrames capabilities without installing and maintaining a local media runtime.

  • Agent-friendly bounded responses
  • Managed runtime and model dependencies
  • Workspace and artifact references
  • Shared API and MCP behavior where practical

Available today

Start local, visual, or in the browser.

Choose the current surface that fits your workflow. The open-source project stays local and telemetry-free; the web and desktop products provide visual experiences.

Open source

GVF CLI + local MCP

MIT-licensed CLI and stdio MCP for local video frame intelligence. No telemetry and no video uploads.

Available

Web app

Extract frames from compatible local videos in your browser. The selected video is not uploaded for extraction.

Apple Silicon

Desktop app

A dedicated Mac experience for visual frame workflows, delivered outside the open-source repository.

A clear boundary

Open source where you run it. Managed where we operate it.

GVF Core, the CLI, and the local stdio MCP live in the public MIT repository. The web app, desktop app, future hosted API, and future managed MCP are separate GetVideoFrames products.

  • 01The local CLI and MCP process media on your machine.
  • 02The managed products will have separate terms, privacy details, and pricing before launch.
  • 03No hosted endpoint, SDK, SLA, or launch date is promised on this preview page.

Follow the build

Use the local tools now. Watch the managed surface take shape.

Star or watch the repository for open-source releases. For API or managed MCP use cases, tell us what you need so the first public contract reflects real workflows.
